Frequently Asked Questions
Steven & Megan | July 26, 2027 | Waterford Castle, Ireland
We can't wait to celebrate with you in Ireland! We know traveling for a wedding takes a little extra planning, so we've gathered some helpful information to make your trip as easy as possible. We'll continue to update this page as more details are finalized.
The Wedding
When and where is the wedding?
Our wedding will take place on Monday, July 26, 2027, at the beautiful Waterford Castle in County Waterford, Ireland. We're so excited to celebrate this special day with all of our favorite people in such a magical setting!
What is the dress code?
Black tie. We invite you to dress up for an elegant evening at the castle. Think tuxedos, formal gowns, and sophisticated evening attire. We can't wait to see everyone dressed to celebrate!
Will the wedding take place indoors or outdoors?
The wedding ceremony and cocktail hour is intended to take place outdoors in the Castle Gardens. Dinner and dancing will most likely take place indoors. However, Ireland's weather can be unpredictable, even in July, so we recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap just in case.
Are children welcome?
Absolutely! Children of all ages are welcome, and we're delighted to celebrate with the whole family. Please include all attending children in your RSVP and let us know about any dietary requirements.
Will there be events beyond the wedding day?
Yes! We'd love to spend as much time with everyone as possible. We're planning a welcome dinner in the castle garden the evening before the wedding and a farewell brunch afterward.
More details, including dates, times, locations, and dress codes, will be shared here as they are confirmed.
Travel & Accommodations
Where should I stay?
We'd love for our guests to experience the magic of staying at Waterford Castle if possible! The great news is that between the rooms within the castle itself, as well as the Waterford Resort Lodges, there is more than enough hotel space to house the entire wedding guest list on the grounds at the castle.
We will be updating information regarding hotel rooms in the coming weeks with additional booking information.
How do I get to Waterford Castle?
Waterford Castle is located on a 310-acre private island in County Waterford, roughly a two-hour drive south of Dublin. We expect many guests will wish to rent their own cars for further vacation/travel before-and-after the wedding, and there is ample parking on site for anyone who brings their own vehicle.
However, we do expect many of our guests to arrive at Dublin Airport around the same times, so it is highly likely we will be adding some type of group transport (bus, van) from Dublin airport to the Castle.
We will provide more detailed directions and arrival information closer to the wedding.
Which airport should I fly into?
Most people will prefer to fly into Dublin. We'll share our recommended airport options and transportation guidance here closer to the event.
Should I rent a car?
If you're planning to explore Ireland beyond the wedding, renting a car may be a great option. We'll provide additional information about getting to the castle and local transportation options as plans are finalized.
When should I book my travel?
We recommend booking flights and accommodations as early as possible, particularly because our wedding falls during the summer travel season. Please make sure your passport is valid and check the entry requirements that apply to your nationality before traveling.
Making a Trip of It
What is Ireland like in July?
July is a wonderful time to visit Ireland, with long daylight hours and generally mild summer temperatures. The weather can change quickly, so we recommend packing layers, comfortable walking shoes, and a light rain jacket.
How long should I plan to stay?
If your schedule allows, we encourage you to make a vacation out of your trip! Consider arriving a few days early or staying afterward to explore Ireland's beautiful coastline, historic towns, countryside, and local pubs.
What is there to do near Waterford?
County Waterford has plenty to explore, from the historic city of Waterford to scenic coastal drives and beautiful countryside. We'll add some of our favorite local recommendations and sightseeing ideas as the wedding approaches.
RSVPs & Other Details
Can I bring a plus-one?
Yes, but please make sure to inform us with your RSVP so we can adequately accommodate everyone!
How do I share dietary requirements or allergies?
Please include any dietary requirements, food allergies, or other relevant meal requests when you RSVP so we can coordinate with the venue.
Do you have a gift registry?
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for, especially with many of you traveling to celebrate with us in Ireland. For those who have asked, we will be creating a honeymoon fund to help us make special memories on our next adventure together.
Who should I contact if I have questions?
If you have any questions that aren't answered here, please contact us at meganstevenbombino@gmail.com. We're happy to help and can't wait to celebrate with you!
With love,
Steven & Megan
